TikTok Shop Affiliate Scripts and Creator Outreach Templates

By Shaheer Khan, founder of Markify Ecommerce

On TikTok Shop, most sales for new brands come from creators who post videos and lives with your product tagged, and earn a commission on each sale. TikTok calls this the affiliate program. Finding creators is easy. Getting the right ones to reply, receive a sample and actually post is the hard part.

This guide covers how to set up your offer, how to choose creators and six message templates you can adapt.

Set up the offer before you message anyone

In TikTok Shop Seller Center, the affiliate section lets you create different kinds of plans. The names change from time to time, but the main types are:

  • Open collaboration (open plan): a commission rate any eligible creator can see and promote your product at. Good for volume.
  • Target collaboration: a private offer, usually with a higher commission, sent to specific creators you invite.
  • Free samples: you can let creators request samples, and approve or decline each request.

Before outreach, make sure:

  1. Your commission is competitive for the category. Look at similar products in the creator marketplace to see what others offer.
  2. Your product page is ready: clear images, honest title, accurate description and good stock. A creator will not risk their audience on a weak listing.
  3. Your margin can pay for it. Add commission, platform fees, samples and shipping to your costs. See the margin section of our TikTok Shop dropshipping guide.

How to choose creators

Follower count is the least useful number. Look at:

  • Relevance: do they already post about your category (beauty, home, fitness, pets)?
  • Selling history: creators with a product showcase and past affiliate videos already know how to sell.
  • Recent views: look at their last 10 videos, not their best one.
  • Audience location: for TikTok Shop US, the creator's audience needs to be in the US.
  • Content quality: would you be happy for this video to be the first impression of your brand?

Start with smaller creators who post often. They reply more, need less persuasion and often sell better than large accounts.

The six templates

Keep every message short, specific and honest. Never promise results, and do not ask creators to make claims about the product that are not true.

1. First message (target collaboration invite or DM)

Hi [name], I loved your video on [specific video topic] — especially [specific detail]. We make [product] for [who it is for], and I think your audience would get a lot out of it. We'd like to send you a free sample and offer [X]% commission through a TikTok Shop target collaboration. No obligation to post if you don't like it. Want me to send the invite?

Why it works: it proves you watched their content, says what you offer in one line, and removes pressure.

2. Follow-up (3 to 5 days later, once)

Hi [name], just following up on the sample offer for [product]. Happy to answer any questions — or if it's not a fit, no worries at all.

One follow-up is enough. Repeated messages hurt your brand.

3. Sample request approved

Thanks for requesting [product]! It ships today and should arrive by [date]. A few things buyers love: [benefit 1], [benefit 2], [benefit 3]. A video showing [specific use or before/after] tends to work well. Let me know if you need anything.

Give them talking points and an idea, not a script. Creators know their audience better than you.

4. Sample delivered, no video yet (about a week later)

Hi [name], hope the [product] arrived safely! Did you get a chance to try it? I'd love to hear honest feedback either way.

5. After a video that performs well

Your video for [product] was brilliant — buyers loved [detail]. As a thank-you we've increased your commission to [X]% for the next [period]. Would you be up for a live or a second video showing [new angle]?

Reward creators who sell. They are your most valuable marketing partners.

6. Re-engaging a past creator for a new product

Hi [name], thanks again for the great work on [old product]. We've just launched [new product], which fits your audience well. Want a sample? Same [X]% commission, or higher for the first month.

Video scripts for tech gadgets

Outreach gets the creator interested. A short brief with a proven video structure makes it more likely their video sells. Tech gadgets (chargers, earbuds, phone stands, car accessories, smart home gadgets) sell best when the video shows a problem and the gadget solving it in the first few seconds. Give creators a structure, not a word-for-word script, so the video still sounds like them.

Script 1: Problem, then fix (15 to 25 seconds)

Hook (0-3s): Show the problem. "My phone is on 5% again." / tangled cables / phone sliding off the car dashboard. Demo (3-15s): Use the gadget once, clearly, with the result on screen. Proof (15-20s): One real detail: charging time on screen, the stand holding the phone on a bumpy road. Call to action: "It's in the orange cart below."

Script 2: "Things I didn't know I needed" (20 to 30 seconds)

Hook: "Three desk gadgets I use every single day." Show three products quickly, ending with yours, held longest. Close on your product with the price or deal on screen.

Script 3: Honest comparison (30 to 45 seconds)

Hook: "Cheap earbuds vs the ones I actually use." Compare one or two things buyers care about, like battery life or fit, on camera. End with your product and the cart link.

Rules for tech gadget videos: only show features the product really has, don't invent battery or speed numbers, and follow TikTok's policies for electronics. Send creators the key specs in the brief so they don't guess.

Track what happens

A simple spreadsheet is enough: creator, date contacted, reply (yes/no), sample sent, video posted, views, orders and commission paid. After a month you will see which kinds of creators actually sell, and you can focus your outreach there.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Sending the same copy-paste message to hundreds of creators.
  • Paying flat fees to creators before you know whether they can sell.
  • Asking creators to say anything misleading, such as fake discounts, invented reviews or health claims.
  • Running out of stock just as a video takes off.
  • Ignoring TikTok's content and commerce policies for your category.

Frequently asked questions

How many creators should I contact each week?

It depends on your team's time. Quality matters more than volume: a personalised message to 20 well-chosen creators usually beats a generic one to 200.

Should I pay creators a fee?

Start with commission and free samples. Consider fees later for creators with proven sales, and agree in writing what you get for the money.

Can Pakistani brands use TikTok Shop affiliates?

Yes, if you sell on a TikTok Shop marketplace you are eligible for, such as TikTok Shop US through a supported business setup. See how to open a US TikTok Shop from Pakistan. Our TikTok Shop management service runs creator outreach for clients.
