How to Choose an Ecommerce Course in Lahore (and What to Learn First)
By Shaheer Khan, founder of Markify Ecommerce
Ecommerce courses are everywhere in Lahore: classroom batches, weekend workshops, government-backed programmes, YouTube channels and paid online groups. Some are excellent and some sell little more than motivation and a "winning product list". Choosing well can save you months and a lot of money.
This guide explains what a good course should teach, what to ask before you pay, and how to get practical experience.
Step 1: Decide what you want to learn
"Ecommerce" covers very different businesses. Pick one direction before choosing a course:
- Amazon (export): product research, sourcing, FBA, listings, advertising and account health, usually for selling in the US or UK.
- Shopify (your own store): building a store, payments, couriers, social media ads, conversion and SEO, for Pakistan or abroad.
- Daraz and local selling: marketplace listings, pricing, campaigns, COD and courier operations in Pakistan.
- Etsy, eBay, TikTok Shop: each has its own rules and is usually for export.
- Working for others: if you want a job or freelancing work as an Amazon virtual assistant, PPC specialist or Shopify developer, look for courses with practical assignments you can show employers or clients.
Our comparison of Daraz vs Shopify vs Amazon can help you choose.
Step 2: Check what the course actually covers
A useful course goes beyond setting up an account. For an Amazon course, for example, look for:
- product research with real numbers: fees, margins and advertising costs
- sourcing, samples, inspection and shipping to FBA
- listings: keywords, images, A+ Content
- advertising: campaign structure, ACoS and TACoS, budgets
- account health and policies: what gets accounts suspended and how to avoid it
- business setup and payments for sellers in Pakistan
For a Shopify course, look for store setup, payments that work in Pakistan, couriers and COD, ads, conversion and basic SEO.
Ask to see the full syllabus in writing.
Step 3: Ask these questions before paying
- Who teaches, and what do they sell themselves? Trainers who run real stores or manage client accounts teach from current experience.
- How practical is it? Will you work on a real or test account, build a store, run a small ad campaign, or only watch slides?
- How current is the content? Platforms change often. Ask when the material was last updated.
- What support do you get after the course? Questions, a community, follow-up sessions?
- What are the total costs? Fee, tools you will need to buy, and money you will need for your first products or ads.
- Class size and format: in person in Lahore, online live, or recorded? Smaller classes allow more questions.
- Can you speak to past students? Not just testimonials on the website.
Red flags
- Income promises: "earn $5,000 a month in 90 days". Nobody can promise this honestly.
- Account-sharing schemes: courses that offer to give you an Amazon, Stripe or TikTok Shop account, or suggest using someone else's identity. These break platform rules and can lead to frozen money and legal trouble.
- "Winning product lists": if many students sell the same product, it stops winning.
- Advice to use VPNs to look like you are in the US.
- Pressure to pay today with "last seat" or "price goes up tomorrow" tactics.
- Heavy upselling into expensive "done-for-you" packages after the course.
Free resources to start with
Before paying, use free material to check that you enjoy the work:
- Platform learning centres: Amazon Seller University, Shopify Help Center and Shopify Academy, Etsy Seller Handbook and TikTok Shop Academy.
- Our blog: practical guides such as how to start an ecommerce business in Pakistan, how to start an Amazon business from Pakistan and Shopify in Pakistan.
- Government and university programmes: Pakistan has run free and subsidised digital skills programmes in recent years. Check what is currently open.
How to practise what you learn
Courses only work if you apply them:
- Build a test Shopify store during the free trial.
- List a few products on Daraz and handle real orders.
- Do product research for five real products and calculate their margins.
- Rewrite an Amazon listing as an exercise and compare it with the top sellers.
- Keep a simple portfolio of what you have done, especially if you want work.
In person or online?
In-person classes in Lahore suit people who learn best with a teacher in the room, want to network with other sellers and like a fixed schedule. Online courses suit people who need flexibility, but they need more self-discipline. Many people combine an in-person course with free online material.

Frequently asked questions
Which ecommerce course is best in Lahore?

Can I learn ecommerce for free?
You can learn a lot for free from platform learning centres and good blogs. A paid course is worth it when it saves you time, gives you feedback on your work and keeps the content current.

You can learn the basics of one platform in a few weeks. Becoming good at it, especially advertising and product selection, takes months of practice.
