How to Start an Amazon Business from Pakistan: Step-by-Step (2026)
By Shaheer Khan, founder of Markify Ecommerce
Amazon added Pakistan to its list of countries whose sellers can register in 2021, and since then thousands of Pakistanis have started selling on Amazon US, UK and other marketplaces. Some build real brands; many lose money because they skip steps or follow outdated advice. This guide sets out the steps in the right order.
Step 1: Choose your business model
Private label. You sell products under your own brand, made by a manufacturer in Pakistan or China. Highest control and long-term value, but you need capital for stock, a trademark and launch advertising. Most of our clients use this model.
Wholesale. You buy branded products from authorised distributors and resell them. Needs strong supplier relationships, and many US and UK distributors only open accounts for registered businesses with local tax IDs.
Manufacturer brand. If you or your family already manufacture (textiles, leather, sports goods, surgical or beauty instruments), selling your own brand on Amazon can be the strongest model of all. See Sialkot goods on Amazon.
Avoid "online arbitrage" (buying from other retailers to resell) and anything involving other brands' names without permission. These often lead to authenticity complaints and suspensions.
For a wider view, see Amazon business models in 2026.
Step 2: Choose your first marketplace
- Amazon US: the largest market, most competition, highest potential.
- Amazon UK: smaller, often less competitive in some categories, and closer for shipping from Pakistan. VAT rules apply.
- Amazon UAE or Saudi Arabia: smaller, closer and sometimes a good test market.
Start with one marketplace and do it well.
Step 3: Decide how you will register
You have two legitimate routes.
Route A: Register as a Pakistani individual or business. Pakistan is a supported seller country. You will typically need your passport or CNIC, a recent bank or card statement, a credit or debit card that can be charged internationally, a phone number and a supported way to receive payouts. Amazon verifies identity, sometimes by video call.
Route B: Register through a US LLC or UK Ltd you own. This makes banking, payouts, wholesale supplier accounts, Stripe for your own website, Walmart and TikTok Shop easier, but adds formation costs and yearly filings.

Whichever route you take: use only your own identity, keep every detail consistent across documents, and never log in through a VPN to appear to be elsewhere.
Step 4: Set up payouts and payments
- Amazon pays out to a supported bank account. Many Pakistani sellers use providers such as Payoneer or Wise, or a US or UK business account if they have a company.
- You need a card for Amazon's monthly fee ($39.99 on Amazon US for the Professional plan) and advertising.
- Bring profits home through proper banking channels, so your income is documented.

Step 5: Find and validate a product
This is where most of the money is made or lost. Follow our framework for finding Amazon products and check each idea against the product research criteria: steady demand, competition you can beat, a margin that survives all fees and advertising, manageable size and weight, no compliance traps, and a clear reason for buyers to choose yours.
Step 6: Trademark and Brand Registry
File a trademark in your target market (USPTO for the US, UKIPO for the UK). Amazon Brand Registry accepts registered and, in many marketplaces, pending trademarks. Brand Registry unlocks A+ Content, Sponsored Brands ads, a Brand Store and stronger protection against copycats.
Step 7: Source, inspect and ship to FBA
- Order samples from several suppliers, then agree a written specification.
- Inspect stock before it leaves the factory.
- Label each unit with its FNSKU barcode and each carton with Amazon's labels before shipping.
- Use a freight forwarder experienced with Amazon deliveries. In the US you need an importer of record and customs bond, which forwarders usually arrange.
See China vs Pakistan sourcing and cross-border logistics.
Step 8: Build a listing that converts
Keyword research, a clear title, a strong main image, seven or more supporting images, five benefit-led bullets, backend search terms, complete attributes and A+ Content. Use our listing optimisation checklist.
Step 9: Launch with advertising
New listings rarely rank on their own. Use Sponsored Products to get the first sales, watch your numbers weekly and know your break-even ACoS before you start. See Amazon PPC basics.
Get reviews only through Amazon's own tools (Request a Review, Vine). Never buy reviews or offer incentives.
Step 10: Run the account properly
- Check Account Health every week: the metrics that get sellers suspended.
- Plan reorders early so you never run out of stock.
- Track profit per unit after all costs, not just sales.
A realistic timeline
| Phase | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Product research and validation | 2 to 6 weeks |
| Company formation (if needed), EIN and banking | 2 to 8 weeks, can run in parallel |
| Seller account registration and verification | 1 to 4 weeks |
| Samples, production and inspection | 4 to 10 weeks |
| Freight to Amazon (sea) | 4 to 8 weeks |
| Launch and first reviews | 1 to 3 months |
From starting research to steady sales, three to six months is normal.
