Best Ways for Pakistani Sellers to Receive Marketplace Payouts

By Shaheer Khan, founder of Markify Ecommerce

Getting paid is where many Pakistani sellers lose money without noticing: a percentage on conversion here, a withdrawal fee there, and a poor exchange rate on top. It is also where problems with marketplace verification and documentation often start. This guide explains the main options and what to check.

Providers, fees and supported countries change often. Check each provider's current pricing and eligibility before you rely on it.

How the money flows

There are usually two steps:

  1. Marketplace → payout account. Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Etsy, TikTok Shop or Stripe pays your sales proceeds into an account they support.
  2. Payout account → Pakistan. You transfer the money to your Pakistani bank account in PKR, or keep some in USD or GBP for ads and suppliers.

Costs can arise at both steps: currency conversion, transfer fees and withdrawal fees.

Option 1: Payoneer

Payoneer is widely used by Pakistani sellers.

  • Provides receiving account details in several currencies.
  • Accepted for payouts by many marketplaces, depending on the marketplace and your account setup.
  • Can pay suppliers and withdraw to Pakistani bank accounts.
  • Fees to check: annual account fee (if applicable), currency conversion fee, and withdrawal fees to local banks.

Option 2: Wise Business

  • Multi-currency account with local receiving details in currencies such as USD, GBP and EUR.
  • Converts at the mid-market rate plus a disclosed fee.
  • Can send money to Pakistani bank accounts.
  • Check: whether Wise Business currently accepts your business type and country of residence, and whether each marketplace accepts Wise details for payouts.

Option 3: A US or UK business bank account (if you have a company)

If you sell through a US LLC or UK Ltd, payouts go to the company's business account. From there you transfer to Pakistan.

Option 4: Marketplace currency conversion to a Pakistani account

Some marketplaces can convert and pay directly to bank accounts in certain countries. Where this is available for Pakistan, it is simple, but compare the exchange rate the marketplace uses with alternatives. Small differences add up on large payouts.

How to compare the real cost

Take a typical payout, for example $5,000, and ask each option: how many rupees arrive in my Pakistani account? Include:

  • conversion fee or exchange rate margin
  • transfer or withdrawal fee
  • any receiving fee charged by your Pakistani bank

The option with the lowest headline fee is not always the cheapest once the exchange rate is included.

Keep your income documented

Bringing money into Pakistan through banks and regulated providers, rather than informal channels, matters because:

  • your bank can see the source of the funds, which helps when you open accounts, apply for loans or explain large deposits
  • it supports your tax return; Pakistani tax residents must declare their worldwide income, including foreign marketplace income
  • some exporters and IT/ecommerce businesses can qualify for specific tax treatment of foreign remittances, depending on current law and registration; ask a Pakistani tax adviser

Keep monthly statements from every marketplace and payout provider. They are your evidence of where the money came from.

Practical tips

  • Use the same legal name on your marketplace account, payout account and bank account. Mismatches trigger verification holds.
  • Keep a USD balance for paying ads and suppliers instead of converting back and forth.
  • Do not use a friend's or relative's account to receive payouts. It breaks marketplace rules and creates tax problems for both of you.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication everywhere. Payout accounts are a target for scammers.

Which option suits which seller?

Your setup Common choice
Pakistani individual or business on Amazon or Etsy Payoneer or Wise, where accepted, or marketplace conversion where available
US LLC selling on Amazon US, Walmart, TikTok Shop or Shopify with Stripe US business account, then transfer to Pakistan
UK Ltd selling on Amazon UK, eBay UK or TikTok Shop UK UK business account, then transfer to Pakistan
